fundraiser and raised over $4,200 in 15 minutes. The money was

School Closing Information
When bad weather or an emergency situation occurs before school
starts in the morning, the Supervisor of Transportation and the District
Administrator will make a decision to do one of the following:
• Hold school at the regular time.
• Delay the start of the school day by two hours.
• Cancel school and all extra curricular events for the day.

These are the radio and TV stations we use for school delays and closings.
Please listen to these stations when inclement weather arises or check
their websites. The decision to delay or close school is made as soon
as possible and the stations are notified promptly. Please refrain from
calling the radio stations and the schools as it ties up the phone for necessary calls.

WVRQ AM-1360, FM-102.3
WKPO FM-105.9
WIZM AM - 1410 , Z-93 - 93.3 F.M.

KQEG FM - 102.7
WBOG FM -94.5

When bad weather or an emergency situation occurs after students
have begun the school day, the Supervisor of Transportation and the
District Administrator will assess the situation. If a decision is made
to close school early, the radio and television stations will be called.

It is important to keep the telephone lines open when school is called off
or delayed because a great number of phone calls must be made in a
short time to get the information to bus drivers and the media. Phone calls
to school officials, radio and television stations, the school bus garage, or
school offices to inquire about school closings or delays should not
be made. Please discuss with your children what to do if school
is unexpectedly dismissed early. Any preparations made in advance will
make a hectic time run a little smoother.

FAMILY ACCESS
Print Family Access Registration Form

The Viroqua Area School District has implemented a new web-based
service that will allow parents to view attendance records, schedules,
health records, food service accounts and middle/high school grades.

Family Access involves parents in the education process and
strengthens connections between school and home. With secure logins
and passwords, a family’s privacy is never an issue.

Check it out! You have the option to have several reports emailed to you,
including reminders when your lunch account balance falls below $5,
student attendance and progress reports.

Parents are asked to fill out the registration form and send it to
the district office at 115 N Education Ave, Viroqua WI 54665.
The form can also be faxed to 608-637-8554.

Password and log in information will be emailed to parents/guardians at
the email address provided and should not be shared with students.

Viroqua Area Schools Donations for Students
The Viroqua Area School District appreciates the outstanding efforts of the
community to help provide the best possible education for our children. The staff at Viroqua Area Schools strive to provide opportunities and experiences for our students that are of the highest quality. However, many of the “extras” that we provide are not covered in the school’s budget, and teachers and/or families must bear the burden of these extra costs.

Many community members have indicated that they would like to make a donation to the school but would like to specify what that money would be used for. Please contact any of the building principals (listed below) for ideas that have been identified by the staff and will greatly enhance the students’ learning and personal growth in many different areas. Full or partial donations for any of these needs will be greatly appreciated.

All donations to the Viroqua Area School District are tax deductible and help our students and academic programs immensely. Thank you for making a contribution and for making a difference in the lives of our students.

Donations may be mailed or dropped off at the Viroqua Area Schools District Office. Please include a note to let us know which project your donation should be directed to.

Viroqua Area Schools Volunteer Program
Viroqua Area Schools recognizes the need in today's world to go an extra
step to make sure our children are safe. Parents and community members
who are interested in volunteering at school or being a chaperone on field
trips need to complete a Volunteer Registration Form.
The Volunteer Policy #353.1 requires that ALL volunteers are subject to a
background screening before they will be able to participate in any volunteer
opportunity at VAS. Once the background screening is complete, you will be
able to help as opportunities arise. All volunteer registration forms are kept
on file in the district. Volunteer registration forms need to be returned to
school at least one week before the event. Forms not returned in a timely
manner may result in denying the volunteer opportunity until the background
check has been completed. Forms will not be accepted the day of the event.

may be found at this link.

Volunteer Registration Forms may be printed from this link and are
also available in each school office.
